Want to make your own balloon garland? Our DIY kits are a great option to start … scroll down to see all the options … but if you would like to choose your own colours, use different sized balloons or make a garland of a different length then here are some tips & ideas to help:

If you have a photo you are using as inspiration for your garland please note the following:

• Every garland is slightly different & everyone has a slightly different way of making garlands so it won’t be exactly as shown in your pic

• Frequently, images online have filters on them so we may not be able to help match colours exactly for you

• Often images online from Event Stylists and Balloon Artists will include ‘double-stuffed’ balloons – this is where they have put one balloon inside another to alter that shades of the balloon – so the exact shade may not be available, you may have to purchase multiple colours to achieve the colours. We can show you how to do this in store if needed!

We don’t offer any training ourselves but we do recommend for your first garland that you watch some Youtube videos to see different ways of making them. We do have the following items available for purchase which may make your garland making easier:

• balloon decorating tape

• glue dots

• balloon hand pumps

Things to Note:

• It is always important to know where the garland will be going as you need to be able to tie it to something.

• You will need the measurements of your garland size in order to work out how many balloons you will need

• You usually need more balloons than you think!

• Having extra mini balloons is always a good idea to fill in extra gaps in the garland

Basic ‘Recipes’ for Garlands:

Everyone makes their garlands differently and the number of balloons you need depends upon lots of things such as

• The size of balloons you use

• How much you inflate your balloons

• How big you want your garland

• If you want a large base on the garland

here are a few very simple recipes that you can adjust …

• For a simple 1.5m garland made of 16″ and 11″ balloons: 10 x 16″ and 14 x 11″

• For a simple 2m garland made of minis (5”) and 11″:  30 x minis and 56 x 11″
